Description

The Tres Generaciones expressions are the premium labels offered by Tequila Sauza: the second largest tequila distiller in the world after Cuervo. The company came into its own in 1873 when Don Cenobio Sauza purchased several distilleries and for three generations continued to expand.

The operation was family owned until 1987 when it was purchased by Allied-Domecq; it is now owned by Beam Global.

Tres Generaciones anejo tequila claims a heritage of 135 years of tequila distilling; it is aged for 12 months in American Oak barrels and said to be "round, smooth and complex."

The 2011 Beverage Testing Institute called the anejo a "Smooth and polished, lighter styled anejo."

AROMA: At first roasted agave, baked apples, and black pepper on the nose, along with a faint fruity scent. Then the oak appeares, along with mild caramel and vanilla notes.
TASTE: Strong spiciness from black pepper, then sweetness from roasted agave, as well as typical oak barrel flavours of caramel and vanilla.
ENJOY: Easy sipper, perahpes with some dark chocolate
