Ocho Single Estate Jamaican Rum Cask Finish Anejo Tequila - Las Aguilas (700ml / 48%)

This Ocho Jamaican Rum finished tequila is a limited edition Añejo expression from Ocho, which brings together rum and Tequila in one awesome spirit! Initially, the Tequila was aged in American white oak for a year before it was whacked into a French oak cask which previously held Plantation Jamaican Rum for three months. An awesome tropical, grassy spirit.

Ocho tequila is the result of un-parrelled attention to detail in every step of the production process. Over-ripe agaves are hand selected from single estate plantations which gives the master distiller, Carlos Camarena, full control over the aroma and flavour profile of the end product. The results speak for themselves.

AROMA: Sweet ripe fruit aromas, both dark and light fruits, with a zingy sharp note. Jammy ripe dark fruit, maybe cherries? And aromas of fallen apples and pears in the orchard, starting to ferment on the ground. Vanilla, allspice and powdered ginger. A very intriguing combination.
TASTE: Spice and heat blaze out of the starting gate: cinnamon, pepper and ginger (48% ABV). Some rum flavours, dark raisins and tannins on the back palate. The kicky spices and slight bitterness do not overwhelm the fruit and agave found in the aromas.
